Thomas N. Whiteside Distinguished Service Award
Named in memory of Thomas N. “Tommy” Whiteside, a former Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer and former president of SCPPA

The Deadline to submit a ballot for this award is September 30th.

During the Fall Conference, we will present the Thomas N. Whiteside Distinguished Service Award to an active and well deserving SCPPA member.  This award is given in memory of Thomas N. “Tommy” Whiteside, a former Deputy Chief U.S. Probation Officer and former president of SCPPA. This will be a great opportunity for professional growth while also enjoying the Grand Strand of South Carolina.  We urge your participation.  Please take a moment to nominate a deserving SCPPA member.

PURPOSE

To perpetuate the ideas and philosophies of the SCPPA by providing incentive and assistance to a person(s) to further strengthen the effectiveness of the Association by actively participating in training and showing demonstrated commitment in excellence and innovation.

CRITERIA

1.  Nominee must be a professional member of SCPPA and must be nominated by an active member of SCPPA.
2.  Nominee must be a community corrections professional who not only has performed assigned duties in an outstanding manner, but has made significant contributions to the probation, parole, or community corrections profession at the local, regional, or national level.
3.  Nominee must have brought credit and honor to the profession through participation or involvement in community corrections programs and/or community service.
