Message from the President

I am very proud to have been elected as the 2012 President of The South Carolina Probation and Parole Association.  The Board has worked diligently this past year to increase membership and encourage committee participation.  In November 2011, SCPPA, The South Carolina Correctional Association (SCCA) and The South Carolina Law Enforcement Officer’s Association (SCLEOA) partnered to sponsor the 2011 South Carolina Criminal Justice Training Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.  The conference included information filled workshops, networking opportunities, and other activities to include a pistol match, golf tournament, and The Battle at the Beach.  There were over 400 attendees and 60 vendors.  It was the first conference involving all three organizations!

As the New Year begins, please consider joining SCPPA.  Having been in law enforcement for over 20 years, it is my recommendation to you to  be an active member of YOUR organization!  It is an exciting time to be involved in the criminal justice community as we begin to utilize Evidence Based Practices to supervise offenders.  Take advantage of the training opportunities that the organization offers and use the contacts made networking to help you do your jobs more efficiently and effectively.
