Joy Thompson Scholarship Award

The Deadline to submit a ballot for this award is April 2, 2010.

During the Spring Conference, we will present the Joy Thompson Scholarship Award to an active and well deserving SCPPA member.  This award is given in memory of Joy Thompson, a former SCDPPPS employee who was very dedicated to SCPPA and the criminal justice field.  The winner of the award will receive a scholarship (hotel accommodations and registration) to attend the Fall SCPPA Conference in Myrtle Beach.  This will be a great opportunity for professional growth while also enjoying the Grand Strand of South Carolina.  We urge your participation.  Please take a moment to nominate a deserving SCPPA member.

PURPOSE

To perpetuate the ideas and philosophies of the SCPPA by providing incentive and assistance to a person(s) to further strengthen the effectiveness of the Association by actively participating in training and showing demonstrated commitment in excellence and innovation.

CRITERIA

1.  Any active member who has distinguished him/herself and made significant contributions to the SCPPA.
2.  Must have participated within the Association in such a manner that this individual has demonstrated his/her awareness of  new programs and initiatives.                                                                          
3.  Has excelled in his/her prospective career through professional achievement and education.
4.  Aggressively promotes the enhancements of awareness of community corrections. 

AWARD

The Joy Thompson Scholarship recipient will receive hotel accommodations and registration to attend the SCPPA Fall Conference in Myrtle Beach.
