A Message from SCPPA President Brett Metcalf

On behalf of the South Carolina Probation and Parole Association, I would like to thank everyone that participated in he 2009 South Carolina Criminal Justice Training Conference held at the Ocean Drive Resort in North Myrtle Beach from November 8 through 11.  The conference was attended by over 240 professionals from the criminal justice field.  The conference was also attended by students from Coastal Carolina University and Armstrong State College.  The conference offered an excellent group of speakers and workshops.  I would like to thank Scott Norton, Conference Chair, Quincy Avinger, Program Chair for the Conference, and all the committees that made the conference a success.

Next year, the Fall conference will move to the Marriott Resort located in Myrtle Beach.  Quincy Avinger has been selected to serve as the Conference Chair for the 2010 Conference.  The SCPPA Board is very excited about the 2010 conference and it will be one that you will want to attend.  The SCPPA Board is working hard on the 2010 Spring Conference, which will be held in Columbia, South Carolina.  Additional information will be placed on the website in the next couple of weeks.
